And not mere foldability but achieved in 10-20 seconds, with great ease and precision into an exceptionally small package: 11" wide x 22" long x 23" high (or exactly 270 mm x 545 mm x 565 mm).

Come in and see for yourself: Our Seattle store always has at least one demo available for test rides. While we also typically stock several different models for ride away purchase it has been gratifyingly hard to keep Bromptons in stock this Spring and Summer.

Product Support, Service and Parts

Concerned about finding competent, experienced and committed service, as well as parts, for your folder? Our full service department was established in 1996. It is staffed to preferentially support the owners of the bikes they bought from us—and to do so expertly, promptly and flexibly.

 

The Models

You'll find below a few examples of models differentiated basis whether 2, 3 or 6 speed, rear rack (R) or front+rear battery lights (R-plus). Choice of handle bars: traditional upright (M), straight (S) or touring (P). Bikes built incorporating the Titanium package are denoted -X.

Super Light Models

Included in the additional $728 (Black, White, Turkish green and Hot Pink), $792 (other colors) or $841 (Raw Lacquer) price are the following titanium parts: Rear frame section, front fork, pedal axle bolt, seat post and fender stays. (The classic main frame thus remains steel alloy). The following upgrades are incorporated as well: Alloy head set, lightweight front wheel (with double-butted spokes) and front hub with an aluminum axle and extra high quality, sealed bearings. The resulting overall weight saving comes to a shade above 2 lb.

Color Selection

Comes indeed in classic black but as well in numerous, modern colors including two-tones. Also, check out this great Brompton color selection tool (for multi-colored steel bikes).

Gear Inches

Calculated with the new BWR hub and 12-16T cog set. Figures provided for the standard 50T and optional 44T chain ring. 6-speed model.

Model Selection

A custom order incurs no extra cost over a bike in stock. At this time there is a 4 weeks wait from when the customer places an order with us and his or her bike arrives. Bikes ship by air from the London factory directly to our Seattle store.

Pricing

2011 prices start at $1,225 for 3-speed models. Models with fewer gears and without fenders are available for less. While customers visit our Seattle shop from 'around the globe' the most popular model with our Northwest customers is the M6L with 12% gear reduction from $1,395.

A customer can specify and price his or her own bike by visiting our 'Build your own Brompton' page. To assure that the customer receives exactly the bike he or she expects this feature does not include a shopping cart ordering function.
