Until just a few years ago in order to ride a bike that folds one unavoidably ended up with a rather awkward, heavy bicycle that did not handle well—nor for that matter folded that well. This has changed dramatically. Today's modern high end, compact, easy-to-straddle, light folder offers a most enjoyable ride and folds with simplicity, precision and ease. While 'small' it instantly adjusts also to very tall riders. When there is need for a bicycle that can be stowed in confined or secure spaces, to be lifted and carried as a handy package acquiring a folder may well make the difference between cycling or not cycling. Judging from abundant, elated commentary the small wheeled Bike Friday, Birdy, Brompton, and Giant also rank among the most aesthetically pleasing bikes around.
Some of our customers buy their folders not primarily because of foldability. As we learn more about the exceptional merits of small wheeled, modern, quality folders some of us are wondering whether 26" wheeled bikes may not be unnecessarily large (i.e. for some riders and on some rides).
Our brick-and-mortar Seattle WA and Oceanside CA stores typically stock a selection of Bike Friday and Brompton models. The Seattle store additionally stocks the Birdy and Halfway (by Giant Bicycle). Bikes are also routinely shipped throughout the U.S. We prep your bike before shipping: "Just un-pack, un-fold and ride!"
Our service department brings decades of individual bicycle hands-on experience to the job and its staff takes great pride in their work. Our focus is to assure first class, prompt service for our own bike customers.

Bike Friday Folders and Travel Bikes
A to B magazine is THE publication to read for anyone interested in
folding bikes, electric-assisted bikes and public transportation (with
the focus on riding as well as carting one's bike). Established,
reputable and competent enough to be highly relevant, small and
independent enough to be refreshingly irreverant. Each issue includes
in-depth reviews of new products, topical articles, extensive
correspondence from riders, accounts from shows, bikes for sale
resources and more—all delivered with a good deal of humor (albeit of
the British kind) and opinion.
A free trial issue of the digital edition is now available.
One year: $38.00. Call 206/547-4621 or 800/940-6548 with your credit card to start your subscription. Or order online.
