Reasons given by our customers for acquiring a small wheeled folding bike include the nimble riding experience, aesthetics, ease in getting on and off, fascination with design, taking advantages of more bicycling opportunities, the satisfaction of making a forward thinking purchase and obviously the space and security benefits relating to a bike that folds crisply and quickly to a small package.
However above all, our customers talk about how superbly a well designed, small wheeled folding bike rides.
The customer base is quite broad. While the largest customer group consists of active 'middle-aged' folks from numerous walks of life our customers are getting younger—not the same ones though, sorry. While in the earlier years our customers were mostly men we have sold Bromptons to as many women as men in 2011 (as of mid September).
We sell to those who own several bikes and those whose only bike is their new folder, to ardent cyclists who ride mighty distances, to those who ride to a nearby bus stop or the store, to those who rarely fold them, to those who bring their folders to distant countries and to those who rarely leave the neighborhood, to those who keep their folders in a closet, car trunk or under their desk and to those who stow them on yachts and planes.
