The electric bike is a new kind of two wheeler: Our customers talk—above all—about the sense of joy, excitement and fun the actual riding offers, about their fascination with the electric bike's unique ability to blend human and motor power, and that it offers most of the advantages of the regular bicycle and fewer of its shortcomings. The eBike—what is it uniquely?
Electric bikes are ridden by adults of just about all ages and proficiency, on differing rides and for varying purposes. More about who rides.
By law the electric bike is a 'bicycle', not a motor vehicle, if incorporating pedals and restricted to a 20 mph top speed and up to 750 Watts of power. More about the law.
We offer complete bikes, as well as power kits, in the power categories of 250, 350 and 500-600 Watts. Read about the different designs of power activation and control.

We invite the prospective customer to visit or contact our Seattle shop to explore which bike or kit may be the ideal for him or her. We are here to thoroughly address your expectations and concerns on the strength of our many years of selling and servicing of electric bikes and also riding our own just about daily.
Check our Overview and Selection Guide for most of our bikes and kits.
The high quality small wheeled Brompton, Giant and Dahon folders ride superbly, fold crisply and quickly, and offer outstanding value.
These are 'long tail' bikes, electric or not, set up to carry serious loads (supplies, tools, kids, dogs). We offer complete extended frame cargo bikes as well as kits which can be retrofitted on standard bicycle frames.
Our shop is located in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood. For the initial supervised test spin our private parking lot is adequate and safe. Passable side streets are just around the corner. The steep hills up Phinney Ridge are only a short ride away as is e.g. the Burke Gilman trail. If you prefer we shall be glad to ride with you. Crisp, stylish loaner helmets provided or bring your own of course. Come in, test ride and compare!
The electric bike is an evolving industry in the U.S. Finding competent, experienced and committed service may on occasion still be a consumer concern.
However, our full service department was established in 1996 and is staffed to preferentially support the owners of the bikes they bought from us—and to do so expertly, promptly and flexibly.
We ship within the U.S., please inquire. We do not export.
Prices are listed on the each brand page and on the Overview page. Visitors to our Seattle store may find in store specials as well. All new bikes are sold expertly assembled, tuned and adjusted, including specifically what is required to activate the manufacturer's warranty. A free new bike service within 60 days is included. While accepting 'all' major credit cards we are continuing our practise of offering 3% off for cash purchases.
Our sales staff provides a zero pressure sales environment rarely found these days. We gladly expend any reasonable amount of time and effort to assist the customer in making the right bike choice. If we have any reservations about your prospective purchase you have our promise that we'll speak up. In view of this we cannot accept the return of a product beyond what may be stipulated in the specific manufacturer's warranty.
