Twelve years of relative sameness perhaps were one selling and servicing an established product. But challenging years when indulging in the quaint pursuit of hawking electric or human power augmented bikes.
After the early years of struggle with bikes (most of which in retrospect should not have been inflicted on the market) our business turned the corner in 2002 with the introduction of the highly accomplished Panasonic-powered Giant Lite.
In 2004 we added the Giant SuedeE and in 2006 the eZee line of bike—outstanding, great-value products from competent, committed and responsive manufacturers. In the last few years we have gratefully found ourselves in the position of being able to enthusiastically stand behind ALL the bikes we sell.
While sales remain small (a mere 5,000 sold by us after all these years) owner satisfaction for bikes sold and serviced by us has climbed steadily. Today it is as close to 100% as anything wheeled and battery powered can reasonably be expected to reach in this apparent and ephemeral universe.
Our bikes are increasingly catching on among discerning and reflective customers from seemingly most walks of life. Over the next few years we are looking forward to providing tens of thousands of customers with the elation of quietly surging down the road, agreeably cresting hills and arriving at their destinations crisp and presentable—having expended exactly the amount of effort desired on the ride. The new Giant Twist due in late May is our latest offering.
In 2003 we started Folding Bikes West and were puzzled to learn that the small wheeled folding bicycle as well suffers from a comparable lack of consumer visability. People are highly enthused about discovering them and amazed to learn what these folders uniquely offer. Today we sell and service small wheeled folders by Bike Friday, Birdy, Brompton and Giant.
