In the Greater Seattle area electric-assisted bicycles may be carried on the bicycle racks of Metro buses. See Metro's bike page. The information below is provided as guidance only. Some of our customers are routinely bringing their bikes on Metro busses.
It would appear that bus racks currently allow bikes up to a wheel base of 46":
The full sized Giant Twist (three models) and iZip Rapido as well as the small wheeled eZee Quando, iZip Urbano and and Dahon Boost fit within a max 46" wheel base restriction.
The current weight limit appears to be 55 lb per loadable position:
The Giant Twist Express, eZee Quando, iZip Rapido and Urbano models and Dahon Boost weigh less even with the battery. The Giant Twist Freedom DX and Freedom models weigh less after removal of the quick release battery removal.
Folding non-electric bikes with 16 and 20" wheels are allowed inside the bus as well. Check folded dimensions.
