How Our Pedal Activated Bikes Have Evolved

Giant Lite

Since 1996 we have offered two dozen brands of electric bikes and kits.
A Decade Ago
Among all these the Giant Lite and Panasonic folder were in our experience standouts, having in common:
- Great riding experience in power on and off modes.
- 'Pedal activation' of the superior torque sensing kind: The motor
responds instantaneously and proportionally to your pedaling. The
power you need, the instant you need it. Intuitively, without having
to give it a thought.
- Power at about 250 Watt.
- Quick on take off, strong on hills.
- Highly energy efficient, great range per Ah capacity.
- Amazing reliability and durability.
- Produced by world leading bicycle and/or electronics
manufacturers.
A Decade Later
The Giant Twist Express is proving a worthy successor to the Lite: In riding enjoyment, performance, reliability, weight and price level.
The Twist offers (hardly surprisingly, designed six years later) a significantly higher level of integration, including an even smoother drive system, a quiet hub motor, a Li-Ion battery and greater range.
By now we feel assured to predict that the Twist shall provide the comparable—i.e. way beyond U.S. market industry standards—reliability and durability of bicycle, drive system and battery, as well as hard to match riding enjoyment and owner satisfaction.
